IT/Helpdesk Specialist

Akron Zoo is seeking an IT/Helpdesk Specialist to provide timely technical support for their technology infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting system issues, managing user accounts, and providing support for various hardware and software used by the organization.

Responsibilities

Provide routine technological support for organizational systems including:
Installing, configuring and maintaining hardware and software
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile device and other peripherals
Manage user accounts, permissions and access control within IT systems
Set up new user accounts, email configurations and devices for staff members
Install and update software applications, ensuring compatibility and data security
Provide technical support to internal staff via phone, email or in person to address hardware, software and network issues promptly and effectively
Document all support activities, IT processes, configurations and troubleshooting guides for reference
Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends to recommend improvements
Collaborate with Senior Manager of Technology to identify and resolve core problems and ensure issues are properly escalated and addressed in a timely manner
Assist with training Zoo staff on new IT processes and technologies

Active DirectoryMicrosoft 365 SuiteIT help desk systemsTechnical supportUser training

Required

Post-secondary degree or related coursework, technical or trade school in computer-related field
Minimum of 3 years' related work experience
Familiarity with IT help desk systems, Active Directory, group policy, Microsoft 365 Suite and Microsoft Admin Centers
