GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Staffing Coordinator responsible for ensuring appropriate nursing and support staff coverage for patient care units. The role involves managing staffing schedules, processing employee callouts, and coordinating with nursing leadership to maintain safe staffing levels.

Responsibilities

Receive and record staff callouts and documents in the scheduling system
Notify Administrative Coordinator of staffing shortages or scheduling changes
Collaborate with Administrative Coordinator and Charge Nurses to fill open shifts
Communicate promptly and professionally with staff regarding schedule changes, shift assignments, and coverage needs
Maintains Nursing Staffing Office data/record files
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Nursing Staffing Office

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year in staffing coordination, scheduling, or healthcare administration (preferably in a hospital or nursing setting)
Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., ShiftWizard, or similar)
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of staff and management
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and scheduling
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple competing demands in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented and dependable, with a customer service mindset
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Ability to think quickly and remain calm under pressure and make sound staffing decisions
