Equipment Technician

The Equipment Technician plays a key role in supporting the Field Team by assisting with equipment and chemical needs, including installation, troubleshooting, and documentation of service visits.

Responsibilities
Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water treatment equipment, helping to make sure everything is set up correctly with the right connections and leak prevention
Learn and apply chemical dosing and testing to help with the start-up and troubleshooting of water treatment equipment
Start up, troubleshoot, and operate equipment for customers, while teaching their teams how to use the equipment effectively
Use basic knowledge of electrical systems to help operate equipment and troubleshoot any issues
Work with our regional service teams to share knowledge and provide guidance on equipment changes, chemical feeds, and system operations
Travel to client locations to provide hands-on assistance with installing, setting up, and training others on our equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly
Work with other teams to suggest improvements in our equipment based on feedback from customer visits
Keep detailed records of service activities, including what was fixed and any recommendations for future improvements, and submit these to internal management and customers within 24 hrs. of completing the service visits
Support other team members, technicians with technical or customer service needs and assist with training when needed
Infrequently transport small amounts of water treatment chemicals (about 5 gallons) to customer sites
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with plumbing, maintenance, general repair, or other similar work
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems
Valid driver's license
Willingness and ability to travel within Arizona and be away from home for overnight travel up to 10% of the time to support other regions
Comfortable with basic computer use, including Microsoft Office tools
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
Able to work independently and with minimal managerial oversight
Willing to work in environments that may be noisy or non-air-conditioned
Able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, and lift between 50 - 100 lbs
Preferred
Past work experience with pre-treatment equipment and systems, including softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and filters
Familiarity with high-purity water production and services
Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring
Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)
