Director of Philanthropic Giving & Engagement

Responsibilities
Supervises staff, consultants, interns, and volunteers in projects engaged in fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship, grant development, and communications/PR activities that support Linc’s mission
Prepares and manages departmental budget(s) and grant/donation revenue forecasting in collaboration with executive leadership and accounting staff, ensuring fundraising and philanthropic performance targets are met
Ensures fundraising, donor engagement, and communications activities align with Linc Housing’s strategic plan and long-term financial sustainability goals
Represents Linc in meetings and events with foundations, institutional funders, public agencies, media partners and individual donors to advance organizational and business development objectives
Supports senior leadership in managing Linc’s Board of Directors’ External Relations committee
Supports all Linc departments through oversight of:
Targeted grant production for general corporate and specific departmental needs for Housing Development, Asset Management, and Services
Impact & community strategy storytelling with corporate leadership and Services
Maintain interdepartmental event supply management protocol
Leads Linc Housing’s philanthropic giving and engagement strategy, including grants, major gifts, individual giving, and donor stewardship, in collaboration with executive leadership
Oversees the development and management of strategic philanthropic and corporate partnerships, including program-related investments, mission-related investing, and other corporate sponsorships/partnerships, in coordination with executive team and departmental leadership
Prepares and delivers presentations and materials for executive leadership, the Board, funders, media partners, and external stakeholders related to fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and organizational impact
Provides strategic oversight of Linc’s communications and public relations initiatives and tools, including website, newsletters, digital communications, and media engagement, ensuring content supports donor engagement/stewardship, corporate branding/positioning, and business development
Oversees donor-, funder-, and media-facing events and site visits, including groundbreakings, grand openings, tours, and briefings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, political science, public policy, or related field
7 years' progressive experience in philanthropic fundraising, donor cultivation, and related aspects on nonprofit communications/public relations (5 years with master's degree)
2 year experience supervising and leading teams engaged in fundraising functions
Knowledge of strategic writing, editing and storytelling for donor communications, grant proposals, and public-facing content that supports philanthropic engagement and corporate branding/media relations
Knowledge of elements of program design and management for grant strategy and philanthropic impact
Knowledge of budgeting and revenue forecasting for fundraising/capital campaigns
Knowledge of prospect research and due diligence methods for foundations, institutional giving, corporate partners and individual donors
Knowledge of social services and community need for affordable housing and special needs populations
Knowledge of terminology and best practices for grant strategy, proposal development, evaluation, and donor stewardship
Superior writing and communication skills, especially for donor/philanthropic cultivation and public-facing communications
Strong analytical skills for interpreting prospect research, fundraising performance data, and financial information to inform philanthropic strategy
Experienced at understanding and applying specific knowledge and methodology in grant proposal writing
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with donors, foundation executives, corporate managers, volunteers, and the general public
Ability to perform prospecting research and due diligence using online databases and other tools to identify, evaluate and manage foundations and donors
Ability to develop and manage departmental budgets and fundraising targets/campaigns
Ability to efficiently organize complex information and impact information to use in grant proposals, impact reports, and donor briefings
Ability to creatively integrate and present information in compelling formats for funders, board members, and the general public
Ability to work in a creative team environment
Ability to provide creative input to varying projects in a multi-faceted department
Strong attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to utilize artificial intelligence and data-enabled tools to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality in prospect research, grant development, reporting, workflow management, and external communication strategies while ensuring accuracy and appropriate human oversight
Preferred
Master's degree in nonprofit management, communications, political science, public policy, or related field
