Responsibilities

Monitor and coordinate placement of incoming admissions including elective, urgent, emergency, same-day surgical/medical patients and one-day admissions
Prioritize daily requests relevant to level of activity, availability of beds, emergency room status, non-scheduled direct emergency admissions, and critical care area needs
Process daily admissions and transfers in hospital system
Reconcile and process daily and monthly statistics for census management
Complete transfer of one-day patients requiring admission in hospital system by obtaining necessary diagnosis/reason for patient’s admission
Process emergency room admissions through emergency transfer function in hospital system

Bed assignmentCensus managementMedical terminologyMedical insurancesHospital system proficiency

Required

High school education/GED or equivalent work experience
Experience in Admitting Department or related work area
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
