Maintenance Repairs Supervisor

NEOGOV is seeking a Maintenance Repairs Supervisor to join the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. This role is crucial in ensuring the Plant Operations team is equipped to repair and maintain the Woodward Resource Center infrastructure, supervising staff and overseeing various maintenance projects.

Responsibilities

Supervision of Assigned Staff: In collaboration with the Plant Operations Manager, supervise the work performed and projects completed by multiple maintenance/skilled trade staff and departments to include Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, Electrical, HVAC, and Locksmith
Inspect and Evaluate: Inspect, approve, verify, troubleshoot, and track small, medium, and large-scale projects on the WRC campus. Confer on-site with project supervisors, lead workers, vendors, and pertinent field staff. Inspect and evaluate facilities infrastructure (grounds, buildings, mechanical systems, and utility distribution systems) to determine function, operation, condition, efficiency, lifecycle, maintenance, and preventative maintenance needs
Team Collaboration: Assist management to establish facility maintenance priorities and designate projects for consideration of Major Maintenance, DOT/IPR, and Capital funding. Ensure compliance and response to regulatory agency requirements. Coordinate outside vendors and facilitate projects involving DAS A&E services
Performance Coaching: Complete actions related to evaluations, PDQs, essential functions, and other personnel related matters

Required

Experience equal to three years of full-time work in multi-trades building and maintenance
An equivalent combination of education and experience substituting thirty semester hours of accredited post high school course work in a specialized building trade for each year of the required experience
Employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time experience as a Carpenter 2, Painter 2, or Plumber 2
Employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as a Maintenance Repairer, Electrician, Carpenter 1, Painter 1, Plumber 1 or Mason
Employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work in any combination of the above
Designated positions in this job class require applicants to obtain the required commercial driver's license and endorsements within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority at the time of hire
Within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority, persons in this class may be required to obtain a license to perform electrical work in accordance with Chapter 103, Iowa Code
Within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority, certain employees in this class may be required to obtain a Fire Sprinkler Installer and Maintenance License in accordance with Chapter 100D, Iowa Code
