Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and coordinate facility operations, space planning, and janitorial services
Coordinate, communicate and maintain a structured work environment that includes directing the day-to-day activities of assigned staff and reviewing and approving work schedules and cleaning procedures
Perform supervisory functions that include participation in recruitment and selection; training development and delivery; identifying opportunities for professional development of staff; setting clear expectations and communicating direction; performance coaching and evaluation; scheduling, assigning and reviewing of work; leave requests and timekeeping; and making recommendations for corrective or disciplinary action of subordinate staff
Through regular group and individual meetings, ensure staff clearly understand their responsibilities, level of authority and expectations; monitor for quality control based on established protocols; ensure execution of daily work is acceptable, efficient and timely
Responsible for communicating issues and/or concerns through appropriate chain of command
Establish and implement policies, procedures, methods and techniques
Prepare recommendations regarding staffing, as well as supplies, materials and equipment utilized
Monitor and maintain inventory of janitorial-related equipment and supplies
Evaluate efficiency, effectiveness and cost of assigned activities and recommend improvements and modifications as needed
Perform the work of subordinate staff, as needed, including various custodial-related duties, using a variety of equipment, supplies and techniques, when needed. Custodial duties include but are not limited to cleaning, polishing, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, waxing, dusting, restroom disinfecting and restocking, emptying trash, changing lightbulbs and general maintenance of court facilities
Perform minor work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, fixtures, furniture and equipment
Lift and/or move materials, equipment, furniture, etc
Oversee, monitor and implement maintenance and improvement of Court facilities, assist with and maintain appropriate records regarding facility management projects, including work orders, requisitions and correspondence; respond to emergencies or problems involving facilities-related issues
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, Placer County, Judicial Council, etc. regarding facility-related projects, services and maintenance
Ensure proper entry, prioritization and scheduling of facility-related projects and work orders in the Judicial Council’s and County’s facility management software
Operate court or personal vehicle to travel to other court facilities or designated locations
Perform, or assist with, facility-related inspections
May be called upon for emergency cleaning
Perform and delegate special projects, as assigned
Maintain and ensure adherence to occupational safety rules, procedures, policies and protocols
Demonstrate initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines
Travel between court facilities as necessary to carry out or supervise activities in assigned areas
Serve as a representative of the court, and the management team, displaying courtesy, dignity and respect and exhibiting tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with those encountered in the course of work

Required

Three (3) years of professional experience in custodial work
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred

Previous supervisory experience desired
Associate's Degree may substitute for one year of experience

Vacation Leave: Accruals start at ten (10) days per year (accrual rate and vacation cap increases with years of service.)
Sick Leave: Twelve (12) days per year.
Holidays: Fourteen paid holidays per year. (Every other year, the Court conducts an All-Staff Training Day on the Cesar Chavez holiday, and employees receive thirteen (13) paid holidays and one (1) floating holiday)
Affordable Medical Benefits: The Court offers two (2) Blue Shield PPO medical plans, one (1) Blue Shield EPO medical plan and one (1) Kaiser medical plan. The Court pays 100% of the premium for one Blue Shield PPO plan and the Kaiser plan, regardless of coverage level.
Dental Insurance: The Court pays 100% of premium for employee and dependents.
Vision Insurance: The Court pays 100% of premium for employee and dependents.
CalPERS Retirement: Classic = 2% @ 55; PEPRA = 2% @ 62. Specific benefit formula will be determined per California Public Employees Retirement System regulations. Employees pay 100% employee contribution and the Court pays 100% of employer contribution.
Life and AD&D Insurance: $50,000 of life insurance and accident insurance is paid by the Court. Voluntary plans are also available, for employees to purchase additional coverage for themselves and their dependents.
Social Security and Medicare: The Court and the employee both contribute 7.65% of wages toward Social Security and Medicare.
State Disability and Paid Family Leave Insurances: Partial wage-replacement insurance plans are funded through employee payroll deductions.
Employee Assistance Program: The Court pays 100% of premium for employee and dependents.
CalPERS 457 Deferred Compensation Plans: Employer contribution each pay period + both traditional and Roth plans are available for voluntary employee contributions.
