Machine Control Technician
Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is a leading distributor of heavy equipment and cranes in the central United States. The Machine Control Technician is responsible for supporting customers' needs by training, troubleshooting, installing, and repairing machine control systems and providing technical assistance with factory field control integration and aftermarket machine control products.

Responsibilities
Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
Installs, removes, troubleshoots, and repairs the grade control systems utilized in equipment sold, rented, and serviced
Coordinates grade control demonstrations with the internal sales force and customers
Provides product support and training during demonstrations in addition to after-sale support and training
Develops and maintains a complete working knowledge of the manufacturer’s smart construction products as well as Topcon Grading Systems
Develops an awareness of the competition and competitive products and industry trends
Understands customer’s overall equipment needs and identifies new areas of business opportunity
Sells equipment, parts, accessories, rentals, and service as a total customer solution and build long-term relationships within the territory to maximize customer and company profitability
Provides timely follow-up with customers and the sales team to ensure the best possible customer experience
Uses company systems and tools to document, track, follow up and capture all sales and product support activity in a timely and accurate manner
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Ensures consistent and reliable on-site attendance
Qualification
Required
High School Education or equivalent
Minimum two (2) years of experience with electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, or electrical
Ability to learn heavy equipment operation for the purpose of demonstration and training
Proficient with using computer networks, systems, and software
Preferred
Knowledge of and experience with GPS products
Experience in problem-solving technical issues
Land/Construction Surveying knowledge with the ability to utilize land/construction surveying equipment
Ability to weld and knowledge/understanding of machine hydraulic systems
