Responsibilities
Investigate maritime incidents (property damage, personal injury)
Represent clients in all phases of incident response, from investigation to litigation to appeal
Draft and file pleadings, motions, and briefs
Conduct legal research and participate in written discovery
Conduct depositions and appear for court hearings and trials
Provide clients with strategic legal advice regarding resolving their problem, whether in litigation or not
Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations
Analyze coverage
Draft coverage opinions and related correspondence
Represent clients in all phases of bad faith litigation, from intake to trial
Draft and file pleadings, motions, and briefs
Conduct depositions and appear for court hearings
Provide clients with strategic legal advice regarding their rights
Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed attorney
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
Ability to manage cases independently and work collaboratively in a team
Graduate of accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar and / or State Bar of California
Preferred
at least 1 year of coverage experience
