Set Up Technician - 2nd and 3rd Shift

WeatherTech Direct is seeking well-qualified Set-Up Technicians to promptly and accurately set up and monitor processes of injection molding and thermoforming machines in the production department. The role involves operating machinery, performing maintenance tasks, and training team members to ensure efficient production processes.

Responsibilities

Operate overhead crane to move molds between mold racks, machines, and pallets
Operate sit down forklifts, reach trucks, and manual lifting devices to move molds and any other required items around the production facility
Read and understand product briefs and process sheets to ensure accuracy in machine set up
Operate HMI/MIU to optimize platen heights, install program for robots/robotics lines, and input process numbers for mold changes, set temperatures for molds, heater bands, and nozzle tips
Climb into, under, and on machines; manually position and attach mold onto the machine
Clean and inspect molds between each use; report any damage to Supervisor, send out any damaged molds for repair
Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks
Train new and existing team members on different functions of the work area to ensure all can perform each task properly; share knowledge and best practices to help aid efficiency and productivity
Perform all job functions in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies/procedures
Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition while cleaning and maintaining equipment as needed
Communicate clearly and work as part of a team
Work a full-time schedule; work overtime as business demands including extended hours and/or weekends
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

2+ years of machine set-up experience
1 year of prior experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (forklift, reach truck)
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience using basic hand and power tools
Knowledge of plastics injection molding/thermoforming
Able to successfully complete the WeatherTech Forklift Certification Program upon hire, including a written exam and hands-on driving evaluation
Read, write, and understand verbal and written work orders/instructions in English
Basic math, measuring, and computer skills required
Be an excellent performer; deliver high-quality results consistently
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude
Authorized to work in the United States
