Goldman Sachs is initiating a substantial effort to modernize its payments platform, aiming to digitize its operations and provide financial services as a Service. The role of Analyst in the Payments platform team involves bringing cloud engineering discipline and baseline cloud development experience to help transform the infrastructure into reliable and scalable services for the public cloud.

Responsibilities
Assist existing engineers in delivering value to stakeholders and customers
Enable the team to deliver on objectives and change development habits
Demonstrate deep programming expertise and a successful track record of designing and delivering applications and services
Maintain applications and services with proficiency in Spring Framework and its ecosystem
Develop microservices and RESTful APIs
Work with databases, including SQL and non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra
Gain hands-on experience with public cloud, preferably AWS or GCP
Participate in Agile/Lean development methodologies with a SecDevOps mindset
Manage complete SDLC with GitLab along with repository and container registry management
Design and release software as container orchestrated and/or server-less workloads on AWS and/or GCP
Qualification
Required
3-5 years (for Associate, 2-3 for Analysts) of software engineering experience using a mainstream programming language
Java is preferred
Candidate should not only demonstrate deep programming expertise but also have a successful track record of designing and delivering applications and services and maintaining them
Proficiency in Spring Framework and its eco-system is essential
Experience with microservices development and RESTful APIs
5+ years (for Associate, 3+ for Analysts) working with databases
Working proficiency in SQL on a mainstream relational database along with experience in non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Redis or Cassandra required
2+ years of hands-on, public cloud experience
AWS or GCP experience preferred
Experience working in an Agile/Lean development methodology with a Security-Developer-Operations (SecDevOps) mindset
Experience in complete SDLC management with GitLab along with repository and container registry management
Preferred
Cloud-native Engineering
Deep expertise and passion for designing, developing, and releasing software as container orchestrated and/or server-less workloads on AWS and/or GCP
Experience with Kubernetes and the related CNCF ecosystem will be considered a strong advantage
Experience with AWS and/or GCP server-less portfolios (e.g., AWS Lambda/GCP Functions, AWS ECS Fargate or EKS/GCP GKE. AWS DynamoDB/GCP BigTable, et cetera) will be considered a strong advantage
Ability and desire to teach, present, and work side-by-side with fellow software engineers in analyzing and designing the best fit solution for either container orchestrated and/or server-less workloads
