Engineering Technician III - Construction

St. Louis County Department of Transportation and Public Works is seeking candidates for the Engineering Technician III position. The role involves performing technical engineering work such as drafting, plan updates, and inspection at construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret construction plans and coordinate construction scheduling
Inspect materials, work in progress and completed work for compliance with construction specifications, plans and procedures
Meet with, assess and inspect the work of contractors, consultants and company representatives and resolve issues
Document and prepare reports on work in progress and non-compliance notices
Resolve issues presented by contractors and the general public
Perform safety checks of work sites and observe work in progress for compliance with established work procedures
Perform a variety of routine field and laboratory testing procedures on construction materials to ensure conformance with specifications
Perform assigned duties during mandatory snow shift

Required

Equivalent to college level coursework in engineering and mathematics
Three years of experience in roadway construction inspection or a related field
Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) will be required within the first 6 months of employment
