Security Officer - Armed Healthcare Rounds

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare environment
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques as needed
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related concerns
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report security-related incidents
Maintain detailed records and logs of patrols, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and site protocols
Assist with access control and visitor management processes, verifying identification and authorization as needed
Collaborate with healthcare staff and first responders during emergencies, following established procedures for the location
Remain visible and approachable to provide assistance and information to staff, patients, and visitors as needed

Required

A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located
At least six months of security-related experience is required
An armed guard card or license is required
Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client
At least six months of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Participate in industry-specific security training programs
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
