Litter Patrol / Roadside Assistance Support

WSP is a company focused on technical services, and they are seeking a Litter Patrol & Roadside Assistance Support Operator. The role primarily involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the E-470 roadway and providing roadside assistance to stranded motorists.

Responsibilities

Walk the road ROW to collect litter, trash, and debris, deposit items into bags, and transport them to central collection points for disposal
Remove small animal carcasses as needed (large animal removal handled by vendor service)
Operate company vehicles safely to access work areas, transport materials, and keep vehicles clean, fueled, and properly inventoried
Maintain accurate paperwork, daily logs, and incident reports
Perform physical labor including lifting up to 25 lbs. into vehicles, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, pushing/pulling, and working in all weather conditions
Provide support to Roadside Assistance operations when additional staffing is required, of if litter patrol can provide quicker response to ensure safety of motorists
Provide roadside assistance services including tire changes, battery jumps, providing fuel, adding fluids, securing cargo etc
Respond to crashes and incidents by assisting law enforcement, fire, EMS, and towing partners. Set up emergency traffic control (cones, flares, RA vehicle positioning) and clear hazards from travel lanes
Use push bumpers or tow ropes to relocate disabled vehicles to safe areas
Patrol toll plazas and maintenance facilities to ensure security and report issues (fires, water leaks, etc.)
Meet response time, safety, and service performance targets
Must be able to lift and not to exceed twenty-five (25) pounds and place in the bed of a company vehicle
Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting, and lifting outdoors in all weather conditions for full shifts
Frequent driving and sitting for extended periods with seatbelt use
Ability to run short distances when necessary for safety or debris removal
Clear vision and hearing required for safe work and communication
Strong situational awareness with the ability to work safely in high-speed traffic areas
Knowledge of vehicle care and roadside service tools (jacks, booster cables, compressors, general tools)
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; ability to maintain both digital and handwritten logs
Effective communication skills in English (Spanish a plus) via radio, cell phone, and in writing
Ability to remain calm, make sound decisions, and react quickly in emergency situations
Must wear ANSI Class III high-visibility safety apparel and other required PPE
Must maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, professional appearance, and demeanor

Required

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Must possess a valid, up-to-date State of Colorado Driver's License with a clean driving record
Required to complete initial onboarding and safety training
Annual refresher training and re-certifications may be required
