Responsibilities

Create a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's overall business strategy, outlining how data will be managed, used, and integrated across the enterprise

Design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions for core banking, payments, lending, investment products, and digital platforms

Establish and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and documentation

Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve system performance and scalability

Ensure compliance with regulatory, data management and security standards in all designs

Develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance cybersecurity and operational resilience

Define and execute architecture aligned with strategic business objectives

Develop long-term technology roadmaps and future-state architecture visions

Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and their impact

Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology requirements with business goals

Mentor design and development teams on architectural best practices

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

Required

8+ years of experience in software design and architecture with an understanding of data management principles including data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, data governance as well as cloud-native solutions, containerization, and public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) in addition to an experience with both bespoke and vendor platforms (FIS an asset), and combinations thereof

5+ years within financial services, focusing on banking, payments, or lending

Solid experience within enterprise architecture (TOGAF, BIAN, or related), system design, application development, and operational resilience

Advanced knowledge of software architecture, microservices, API integrations (including open banking/finance), messaging frameworks (ex MQ, Kafka, etc) and data management and analytics platforms

Certified professional: TOGAF 9; Azure or AWS related certifications; CISSP or equivalent certification is an asset

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and evaluate current and emerging technologies and drive to decisions that deliver the best solutions for the business
