Investment Coordinator
Balyasny Asset Management L.P. is a leading investment management firm, and they are seeking an Investment Coordinator to support Portfolio Managers and their teams. The role involves optimizing access to research and corporate management, fostering relationships, and enhancing processes to ensure efficient investment performance.
Responsibilities
Strategic Resource Management – Proactively identify, prioritize, and coordinate access to high-value research, corporate management meetings, and industry events that align with the team’s investment priorities. Monitor industry trends and corporate actions to provide timely, actionable recommendations. Optimize participation in high-impact events by acting as a key liaison with corporates, investor relations, and external partners. Oversee the acquisition and distribution of resource materials, financial models, and company presentations for timely access to critical information
Relationship Building & Stakeholder Communication – Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external research providers, sell-side partners, and corporate access teams. Collaborate closely with BAM’s Broker Relations and Corporate Access team to ensure investment staff receives differentiated insights and priority access to key events. Clearly communicate objectives, feedback, and outcomes to maximize the value of each engagement
Insight Integration & Value Measurement – Maintain and update the PM team’s coverage universe. Collaborate with investment teams to understand research needs and investment theses, ensuring effective leverage of external resources for idea generation. Consolidate feedback metrics to assess the impact of research and corporate access activities
Process Optimization & Reporting – Continuously assess and enhance processes for sourcing, evaluating, and tracking research and corporate access opportunities, ensuring efficient use of investment team time and resources. Maintain systems for tracking events, meetings, and research activities. Deliver bespoke reporting and insights to investment teams to support decision-making
Compliance & Best Practices – Partner with Compliance to ensure all meetings and engagements adhere to firm policies and regulatory requirements. Support the vetting and approval process for industry experts and private company interactions
Operational Excellence & Ad Hoc Strategic Initiatives – Manage complex scheduling, travel logistics, and expense processes with a focus on efficiency and accuracy. Proactively resolve conflicts and prioritize activities to maximize team productivity. Support cross-team collaboration, process improvements, and projects in conjunction with Broker Relations and Corporate Access
Qualification
Required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders
Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented mindset, with a passion for enabling high-performance teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred
Understanding of corporate access, the investment research ecosystem, and the buy-side landscape
