Responsibilities

Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of learning and development (L&D) projects; manages, maintains and scales L&D project development and implementation; reviews relevant guidance products; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; coordinates with Subject Matter Expert (SME) focal points and DOS clients; identifies and tracks follow-up actions with respect to L&D products
Performs consulting assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning facilitating workshops, through other interactive sessions and assisting in developing the action plan the client will use to manage the change
Researches, analyzes and presents information pertaining to DOS Clients L&D needs gathered from diverse sources
Assists in development for the UN L&D-focused strategy in collaboration with partners and stakeholders throughout the Secretariat, including the review and analysis of issues and trends related to L&D, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies in relation to fostering a knowledge sharing culture
Undertakes survey initiatives with respect to L&D; designs data collection tools as part of the CDOTS Campus; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares conclusions
Prepares various written outputs, e.g. notes, memos, draft background papers, strategy documents, trend analysis, sections of reports for L&D as required
Provides substantive support to L&D related consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations, etc
Undertakes outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities
Coordinates activities related to L&D budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.)
Work closely with OICT on the maintenance, upkeep, and subsequent phases and expansion of L&D platforms
Performs other duties as required

Required

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, human resources, economics or a related field is required
A first-level university degree with relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree in the specified fields of studies
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, learning and development or related area is required
Experience designing training programs with an e-learning component is required
Experience conducting training / learning needs assessments is required
Experience working in a learning and development capacity for an international organization is required
English is required

Preferred

Experience conducting Train the Trainer programmes is desirable
