Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable software systems that power TALON’s next-generation products

Drive technical strategy for projects involving payments, data pipelines, and system integrations

Mentor and guide a team of engineers in best practices for development, testing, and deployment

Collaborate with Product Management, DevOps, and Security to deliver compliant, high-performance solutions

Design and maintain API-based integrations with external partners, EDI systems, and financial networks

Ensure solutions meet high standards for reliability, scalability, and security

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience and at least 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership or team lead roles

Deep experience in Fintech, including credit/debit card payment processing, PCI compliance, or banking integrations, is a huge plus

Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern backend frameworks. Experience with Meteor is a plus

Strong knowledge of API design and integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, or similar)

Hands-on experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka, or equivalent) and data modeling for analytics

Familiarity with EDI standards, data exchange, and interoperability protocols

Preferred

Relevant Master's degree preferred

Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms

Exposure to healthcare technology, insurance data, or HIPAA-compliant environments

Background in micro-services architecture and CI/CD pipelines

A passion for clean code, scalable systems, and mentoring others
