Overdose Data to Action Navigator
Rocky Boy Health Center is seeking an Overdose Data to Action Navigator to connect individuals impacted by substance use to harm reduction, treatment, and recovery support. The role involves building relationships with providers, conducting environmental scans, and providing person-centered navigation to improve access to life-saving support systems.

Responsibilities
Participate in Program Training
Complete all required program training on harm reduction principles and strategies, stigma and bias, trust building, boundaries, MOUD (Medication for Opioid Use Disorder), shared decision making, client engagement, overdose recognition and response training
Apply training concepts in daily practice to enhance quality of care and professional effectiveness
Engage in Weekly Community of Practice
Participate actively in a statewide, virtual Community of Practice (CoP) with other OD2A Navigators
Share challenges, strategies, and lessons learned to strengthen the collective impact of the navigation network
Support peer learning by contributing to discussions and offering insights from local experience
Conduct Focused Environmental Scan
Conduct and regularly update a community environmental scan to identify available services, emerging needs, and system barriers
Engage with local providers, organizations, and community members to build collaborative relationships
Document findings to inform linkage-to-care strategies and OD2A program development
Develop and Strengthen Linkages to Care
Provide person-centered navigation for individuals with substance use disorder or at risk of overdose
Coordinate referrals and warm handoffs to harm reduction, treatment (including MOUD), medical, housing, food, transportation, and other support services
Maintain updated knowledge of local and regional resources and build strong referral partnerships
Track outcomes and follow up with clients when possible, to ensure continuity of care
Track, Document, and Evaluate
Use standardized tools to document encounters, referrals, naloxone distribution, and participant outcomes
Collect and share qualitative data, including success stories and participant experiences, to highlight program impact
Participate in evaluation and continuous improvement activities, which may include presentations or story sharing in meetings, reports, or online forums
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Demonstrated commitment to supporting many paths to recovery and support services. Willingness to work with people who are actively using substances
Experience working with individuals who use drugs or communities affected by substance use and personal or professional experience with recovery, harm reduction, or peer support
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build trust while maintaining professional boundaries
Ability to initiate and maintain partnerships across diverse systems (public health, healthcare, social services, and community organizations)
Basic computer skills and ability to accurately document data using online systems
Willingness to travel locally for outreach and training and participate in online meetings
Preferred
Familiarity with local resources including healthcare, treatment, and social service systems
Experience with community outreach, case management, or navigation roles
Basic knowledge of Medicaid, MOUD, and overdose prevention resources
