Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan and fabricate dies, tools, and assemblies
Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining equipment
Assemble, modify, and repair tools, gauges, jigs, and dies
Verify part accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
Troubleshoot tool performance issues and perform maintenance and manual operation of progressive dies
Recommend design improvements based on function and construction of existing tooling
Maintain a clean and organized work area following 6S standards
Support production teams by designing work aids like templates and jigs
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
3–5 years of experience in tool and die making
Ability to read blueprints and interpret dimensions and tolerances
Skilled in using a variety of machine and hand tools
Strong understanding of design principles, precision measuring instruments, and basic trigonometry
Preferred
Associates degree or vocational certification in a related field is a plus
