Equipment Services Technician/ Electronics
City of University Park is seeking an Equipment Services Technician to diagnose and repair various types of vehicles and equipment. The role involves working on gasoline-powered, diesel-powered, and hydraulic systems, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining shop equipment and tools.

Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair gasoline-powered equipment, diesel-powered equipment, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
Uses scan tools and laptop computers to evaluate equipment systems and failure codes
Performs preventative maintenance on fleet equipment
Enters data into the fleet maintenance software program related to repairs
Maintains shop equipment and tools
Installs and repairs public safety equipment lights, sirens, radios, etc
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited automotive, heavy equipment, or heavy truck training program and five (5) five years of current work experience
Ten (10) years of verifiable current on the job experience may be substituted for an applicant with no accredited training program graduation
Ability to use scan tools to diagnose problems
Ability to operate computers and enter data on computers
Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within the first six (6) months of employment
Mac Refrigerant Certification to allow servicing of mobile A/C Systems or ability to obtain within the first six (6) months of employment
