Senior LevelLockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement a modern software framework for the F-35 Ground Systems Mission Planning Environment project. The successful candidate will guide a team of Software Engineers in the design and development of a new contract aimed at modernizing the Mission Planning product and tools, ensuring effective communication and implementation throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, configuration management, and troubleshooting of services
Execute troubleshooting skills to meet stability objectives
Create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) processes and solutions for deploying and maintaining Linux and Kubernetes hosts
Implement and maintain automation technologies
Design, engineer, deploy, and maintain high-availability and secure Linux and Kubernetes systems
Enforce strong software architectural principles, including modularity, flexibility, and extensibility
Develop next-generation software
Participate in end-to-end integration activities
Analyze user requirements and implement algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards
Oversee software development teams
Recommend new technologies and processes
Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of software architecture, technical vision, and the ability to drive the successful implementation of complex projects
Comprehensive understanding of concepts within the field and related disciplines
Ability to develop practical solutions to a range of complex problems
Experience leading the design, implementation, configuration management, and troubleshooting of services
Ability to execute troubleshooting skills to meet stability objectives
Experience creating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) processes and solutions for deploying and maintaining Linux and Kubernetes hosts
Experience implementing and maintaining automation technologies
Ability to design, engineer, deploy, and maintain high-availability and secure Linux and Kubernetes systems
Strong software architectural principles, including modularity, flexibility, and extensibility
Experience participating in end-to-end integration activities
Ability to analyze user requirements and implement algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards
Extensive practical experience in software development
Strong knowledge of software design principles and architecture styles
Strong coding and technical skills
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
Experience overseeing software development teams
Ability to recommend new technologies and processes
Commitment to delivering high-quality solutions and driving technical excellence
Ability to engage with senior leadership on significant matters, providing technical guidance and expertise to drive business outcomes
Strong understanding of industry and company practices
Preferred
Experience in containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker
Experience with Mission Planning Environment (MPE)
Proficient in scripting and automation tools (Ansible, Python, puppet, or Terraform)
Experience in Test automation using Robot and Cypress frameworks
Working experience of cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
Experience in DevSecOps, including CI/CD, with a strong understanding of security and compliance principles
Experience implementing and maintaining automation technologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) services
