NOC Network Engineer II

Communication Technology Services (CTS) is one of the largest integrators and managed service providers for enterprise cellular networks in the U.S., specializing in the design, installation and support of Distributed Antenna System (DAS), Small Cell, and 4G/5G Private Wireless Networks for Enterprise. They are seeking a skilled Network Engineer II to optimize high-traffic network infrastructures, design and implement enterprise-level WAN and LAN networks, and maintain system integrity while collaborating with the Network Operations support team.

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor the performance, availability, and security of traditional networks and DAS networks
Respond to network alarms, incidents, and outages, working quickly to identify root causes and apply corrective actions
Collaborate with other teams to restore services and implement temporary and permanent solutions
Perform configuration changes and updates for routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware as necessary
Troubleshoot connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and other network faults
Perform routine assessments of network performance, providing recommendations for optimization
Assist in the planning and implementation of network upgrades, expansions, and capacity improvements

Required

Strong understanding of IP networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and VLANs
Familiarity with SD-WAN, routing, and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc.)
Experience with network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs) and troubleshooting network security breaches
Experience working in a SOC or Regulatory controlled environment
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors
Attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards network maintenance and optimization
Flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends
Possibility for on-call engagements
Maintenance windows for internal and external system support
