Responsibilities
Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely
To initiate and/or make recommendation regarding the hiring, firing, discipline, promotion and evaluation of all Bakery Department personnel. To orient and train all new Bakery Department employees and retrain employees when necessary
To develop a weekly labor schedule for all Bakery Department employees for the approval of the store manager
To supervise and actively wrap, package, and sell a variety of goods
To supervise and bake bread, rolls, buns, cake, pies, pastries and brownies
Maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures
Transportation and stocking of goods within department
Ensuring Health and Safety Codes, checking for pricing and expiration, and maintaining an organizational standard area
To check, record, and retain cooler/freezer temperatures and maintenance
Stay up to date and in congruence with Health and Safety standards, as well as holding a working knowledge of cleaning supplies and various chemicals and machines within the department
To accurately record customers’ order/ requests for cakes and other bakery items
To order all bakery products and supplies from authorized vendors to minimize out-of-stocks while maintaining the desired bakery turns
Ability to comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy and procedures, and usage of equipment
To supervise/perform organize the cooler/freezer/preparation area for receipt of merchandise, verify the merchandise against the invoice, inspect the delivery for shortages/damage and quality, sort cases for stocking or product preparation and code-date all case items in the cooler/freezer
Qualification
Required
Basic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Prior supervisory experience
Prior experience with oven, convection oven, mixer, fryer, bread slicer, stove, wrapper, scales, and cleaning materials
