Responsibilities
Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing
Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems
This is a lead engineer role that requires project management skills
The candidate will fulfill the role as an agile product owner
The candidate will perform and support research and development associated with a network control system
The applicant should be detail oriented, an experienced technical writer, possess excellent communication skills, and works well in a collaborative work environment
Candidate should be able to manage a large project and mentor junior engineers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
