Responsibilities
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Biacore 8K SPR instrument, including compound screening and troubleshooting
Prepares lab reagents and media
Performs protein expression and purification procedures
Conduct standardized biological or biochemical assays and laboratory analyses, eg. TR-FRET, FP, pull downs, cell-based assays, western blot, flow cytometry
Analyzes experimental data and interpret results to write reports, presentations, grant and publication preparation
Uses computers, computer-interfaced equipment, robotics or high-technology applications to perform work duties
Maintains detailed notebook of all work-related activities
Operation and maintenance of standard lab equipment
Maintains and orders laboratory supplies
Communicates with purchasing and may be responsible for negotiating with vendors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required with a major in biology, chemistry or 'pre-med' preferred
Research experience (1-4 yr) in molecular biology or biochemistry required
Knowledge of information and techniques related to either biology, chemistry, or medicine is preferred
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work with a wide variety of faculty and staff
Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems
Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks
Ability to work within a team environment

Preferred
Prior experience with SPR preferred
A minimum time commitment of 2 years is preferred
