Mass Fatality Response Planner (PPM III)
NEOGOV is seeking a Mass Fatality Response Planner to coordinate with the King County Medical Examiner's Office in updating its Mass Fatality plan in preparation for the FIFA World Cup 26 event. The role involves managing planning processes, facilitating workgroups, and developing materials to ensure effective emergency response during mass fatality incidents.

Responsibilities
Be the primary author of the Mass Fatality plan updates
Write a shorter Mass Fatality handbook for use by all KCMEO staff
Create a system that makes future updates to each document simple and straightforward
Research best practices for fatality incident planning
Facilitate and document the KCMEO Mass Fatality workgroup and act on recommendations from that group
Work with KCMEO leadership to develop mutual aid agreements
Liaise with KCMEO partner organizations around mass fatality incident planning
Develop fact sheets and other materials for the FIFA World Cup 26 events
Develop tabletop and other exercises for KCMEO staff, and conduct these
Identify service and resource gaps, and work with KCMEO leadership to close them
Develop a clear, effective, and efficient way for future mass fatality incident plan updates and a schedule of tasks for this to take place
Assist in emergency response in the event of a mass fatality incident taking place during the 18-month assignment

Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience managing a project
Demonstrated experience writing plans
Ability to transform spoken language and incomplete documentation into clear, concise, and effective writing
Commitment to using pro-equity practices and creating documentation through inclusive, collaborative, transparent, and accountable processes
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with peers and partners to complete time-sensitive projects
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent verbal communication and coordination skills
Outstanding attention to detail
Willingness to be a self-starter and to take on new challenges
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams) to complete daily tasks
Preferred
Demonstrated experience writing Mass Fatality or other emergency response and recovery plans
Completion of FEMA emergency management trainings
Demonstrated experience with fatality management
