The Community Technician will assist in monitoring a residential program, ensuring a safe environment while engaging empathetically with residents and managing various responsibilities including screening, documentation, and emergency assistance.

Responsibilities
Assist in monitoring this residential program for individuals experiencing homelessness
Maintaining a safe environment
Performing rounds and addressing the varied needs of individuals experiencing homelessness
Manage conflict or challenging behaviors with self-awareness
Emphasizing safety and building trust
Screening residents and visitors at front door
Create written documentation, including logbook entries, incident reports and progress notes
Manage inventory for supplies
Maintain fire safety drills and logs
Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance/NARCAN when needed
Assist with inspections and audits
Escort clients and serve meals as needed
Help maintain an orderly and clean facility
Related duties as assigned
This position is subject to mandatory overtime
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED required
CPR Certification or the ability to obtain certification required
NYC Fire Safety Guard Certification or the ability to obtain certification required
TB clearance when required
effectively communicate with others both in writing and orally
ability to maintain professional boundaries
basic computer literacy required
Preferred
NYC Fire Safety Coordinator Certification preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification
Security guard license preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire license
Food Handler Certificate preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred
Bilingual abilities a plus
Vaccination preferred but not required
