Microelectromechanical Systems Engineer

Responsibilities
Conduct MEMS device design and simulation for micro-scale sensors and actuators
Perform photolithography, deposition, etching, bonding, and thin-film processing in ARL’s cleanroom
Lead microfabrication process development and documentation
Execute environmental and reliability testing of MEMS devices
Support integration and packaging of MEMS into larger electronic systems
Collaborate with ARL researchers, chemists, and materials engineers
Generate technical reports and maintain experiment logs in accordance with ARL standards
Qualification
Required
Specialized engineering support in the research, design, and fabrication of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices
Experience working in a cleanroom environment
R&D experience in MEMS fabrication, additive manufacturing, micro-scale electronics packaging, and micro-scale energetics
Conduct MEMS device design and simulation for micro-scale sensors and actuators
Perform photolithography, deposition, etching, bonding, and thin-film processing
Lead microfabrication process development and documentation
Execute environmental and reliability testing of MEMS devices
Support integration and packaging of MEMS into larger electronic systems
