The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment while ensuring a safe work environment.

Responsibilities
Inspect the repairs, replacements, installations, and adjustments of the Press Machines
Will ensure the maintenance of all mechanical equipment in the steel foundry environment
Welds to repair broken parts, fabricate new parts and assembles
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to manufacturing equipment and machinery
Inspect equipment when required for repair or transportation
Ensure safe environment to avoid contamination or workplace safety hazards
Inspect to confirm correct calibrations of machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation
Use hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs
Test unit to evaluate its mechanical operation
Confer with operator and observes, test and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunction
Disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repair
Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear
Repairs, replaces, adjust and aligns components of machine Involves getting on knees, climbing into and on press, working from ladder up to 13 feet
Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently pushes and pulls 20-30 pounds of force in moving machinery parts
Awkward positioning to climb in and on machinery
Constant use of tools weighing up to 20 pounds
Test runs repaired machinery
Fabricate replacement parts
Repair or replaces electrical wiring
Weekly lubrication and inspections on machinery
Clean equipment, order parts and record keeping
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
Knowledge of powered tools
Ability to fabricate and weld
The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged
The ability to quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions
The ability to see details of objects at a close range (within a few feet of the observer)
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
The ability to quickly make coordinated movements of one hand, a hand together with its arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
The ability to understand and organize a problem and then to select a mathematical method or formula to solve the problem
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
The ability to coordinate movements of two or more limbs together
The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs
