Dunavant is seeking a Night Dispatcher to provide centralized after-hours support for multiple terminal locations. This role is critical to ensuring smooth operations for customers that require 24-hour service, focusing initially on monitoring and assisting the Memphis and Savannah terminals.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage after-hours operations across multiple terminals

Ensure on-time deliveries and provide PINs for port or rail billing

Update dispatched freight status and driver assignments in the system

Optimize fleet utilization and capacity across multiple locations

Manage documents and confirm in the Transportation Management (TM) system for invoicing purposes

Respond promptly to operational challenges and escalate issues as needed

Maintain accurate records and communicate updates to day-shift teams

Performs all other duties or projects as assigned

Required

Associate degree (AA) from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Transportation experience is a must – preferably both port and rail

Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills

Ability to multi-task and manage 20+ trucks across multiple terminals

Intermediate Excel skills required: Pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP (not just basic data entry)

Familiarity with DOT Hours of Service and DOT regulations

Good geographical knowledge of terminal locations

Excellent communication skills (bi-lingual a plus, but not mandatory)

Fleet optimization and capacity planning experience

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
