Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) is seeking a dedicated bilingual pediatrician to join their Pediatric Unit, which serves as the medical home for approximately 300 children in family foster care across Westchester County. The role involves providing comprehensive primary care, conducting evaluations, and educating patients and families while adhering to established guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive primary care to children in foster care

Follow NYS •Working Together• guidelines and AAP standards

Conduct pediatric evaluations and review medical records

Refer to specialists and follow up on recommendations

Perform procedures and interpret lab results

Respond to phone inquiries during office hours and on-call times (nights/weekends/holidays)

Complete forms and reports for patients and DSS staff

Educate patients, families, DSS staff, and Pediatric Unit nurses

Develop printed materials and deliver presentations

Conduct outreach to community agencies and DSS offices

Participate in discharge planning and board rate reviews

Track developmental screenings and report to Westchester County DOH EI

Contribute to discussions at Foster Care Discharge Review meetings
