They are seeking a dependable and experienced CNC Machinist to program, set up, and run CNC machinery, partnering with the Machine Shop manager to manufacture new business in various sectors including Aerospace and Defense.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and run Mazak (Mazatrol) and Yama Seiki (Fanuc) bar-fed lathes with live tooling, Y axis, and sub spindles

Partner with the Machine Shop manager to manufacture new business being won with companies in the Aerospace, Defense, Power Generation, Transportation, and Technology sectors

Use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of operations

Possess analytical, time management and communication skills, and a willingness to learn and lead by example with at least 3 years of experience as a machinist

Program the machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, calculating requirements, and proving part programs

Troubleshoot processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, changing inserts and replacing worn tools

Set up lathes or mills by installing fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications

Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to machine products accurately

Perform inspections of equipment, materials and products

Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines

Monitor the machines while they execute the tasks and make necessary adjustments to produce better results

Document actions by completing production and quality logs

Check daily to ensure functionality

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Learn and apply the latest relevant knowledge to the work

Possess ethical behavior, attention to detail, self-motivation, precision, and enforce quality standards

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist

Computer savvy and familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC software

Capable of programming the machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, calculating requirements, and proving part programs

Capable of troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, changing inserts and replacing worn tools

Ability to read and interpret work orders and blueprints (materials, specifications, and geometric dimensions and tolerances or GD&T) to machine products accurately

Perform inspections of equipment, materials and products

Prepare and loads raw materials and parts onto the machines

Monitors the machines while they execute the tasks and makes any necessary adjustments to produce a better result

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs

Checks daily to ensure functionality

Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Learns and applies the latest relevant knowledge to the work
