Electrical Engineer I, II, III, Sr.

The Electrical Engineer position provides technical expertise and leadership to implement asset integrity strategies, focusing on long-term asset health and reliability improvements at operating sites in North America.
Responsibilities
Identify deficiencies in maintenance processes and develop sustainable improvement. Apply and optimize PM / PdM activities to drive improvement in asset mean time between failures. Provide prioritized asset assessments that support the 5-year capital planning process
Track site specific downtime to identify reliability improvement opportunities and utilize Root Cause Analysis processes to review failures and identify corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. Provide trouble shooting support to maintenance and operations process knowledge required for effective problem solving
Collaborate with maintenance planning teams to develop key field service maintenance scopes for regular maintenance, and annual turnarounds and peers to develop asset strategies, pursue consistency between sites and share best practices/experiences. Deploy and execute on asset strategies and monitor results to continually refine and improve asset health management. Assist with supervision of field service contractors. Interpretate test results and ensure follow up actions are tracked and completed
Conduct audits and inspections. Coordinate power system study activities. Complete minor updates to power system models
Review and authorize work permits; development of lock-out-tag-out plans
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required, major in Electrical Engineering
0+ years of related experience required for Engineer I
2+ years or more of related experience for Engineer II
4+ years or more of related experience for Engineer III
8+ years or more of related experience for Engineer Senior
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience for Engineer II
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in multi team roles for Engineer III
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading cross functional teams for Engineer Senior
Excellent written and communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of management for Engineer Senior
Must demonstrate ability to influence others; requires strong leadership qualities, and team building for Engineer Senior
Working familiarity with RCM and FMEA for Engineer Senior
Eligible to be registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) for Canadian sites for Engineer Senior
Proficiency in MS Office products
CMMS (or similar software) experience
Preferred
Experience in related co-op or internship is preferred for Engineer I
Demonstrated active team participation for Engineer I
Experience with operation and maintenance of high voltage switchgear (gas, air, and metal-enclosed), transformers (oil-filled and dry-type), and other industrial electrical infrastructure is an asset for Engineer Senior
Working knowledge of power system protection and coordination. Protection and coordination with SEL and/or GE relaying and SCADA is an asset for Engineer Senior
Experience with underground mining power systems is an asset for potash sites for Engineer Senior
Experience with power system modelling software tools (EasyPower is an asset) for Engineer Senior
Control system knowledge. Experience with Rockwell, GE, or ABB PLC's and/or Delta-V, ABB 800xA, or Yokogawa DCS is an asset for Engineer Senior
Knowledge and experience with instrumentation is an asset for Engineer Senior
Experience with field instrumentation, PLC and DCS control systems, project management and related programming will be an asset for Engineer Senior
Knowledge and experience with mine hoisting systems is an asset for potash sites for Engineer Senior
Working knowledge of National Electrical Code for US sites and Canadian Electrical Code for Canadian sites for Engineer Senior
Working knowledge on Mine Safety and Health Administration electrical safety (MSHA) for US mining operations and CSA M421 Use of Electricity in Mines for Canadian sites for Engineer Senior
Knowledge of Predictive Technologies (vibration, IR, UE, MCA, oil analysis) for Engineer Senior
Facilitation experience with RCM and FME is an asset for Engineer Senior
Development experience with PM procedures is an asset for Engineer Senior
CMRP (SMRP certified maintenance reliability professional), CRE (ASQ certified reliability engineer), CRL (AMP certified reliability leader), or CSSBB (ASQ certified six sigma black belt) certification is an asset for Engineer Senior
