Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering - Thermal Science

Establish a nationally and internationally recognized research program in Thermal Sciences and Energy Systems
Teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, including thermodynamics
Work with diverse groups/populations
Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication skills
Qualification
Required
An earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or related field at the time of appointment
Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, including thermodynamics
Demonstrated record or potential for scholarly achievement evidenced by publications, presentations, or awards in areas related to thermal sciences and energy
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations
Demonstrated proficiency in oral communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills
Preferred
Strong expertise augmented by recognized scholarly contributions in Thermal Sciences and Energy
Demonstrated track record in computational and experimental modeling of energy systems
Ability to teach courses in at least one of the following subjects: environmental fluid mechanics, gas dynamics, wave dynamics, or energy topics in addition to developing courses in their area of expertise
Publications in professional journals commensurate with experience
Ability to foster a nurturing and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff
