Responsibilities

Individual will perform technical assignments in support of the testing, installation, and commissioning of automated electric distribution field devices for Eversource
Individual will work with various programming languages, i.e. DNP, Modbus, SEL, etc. for field devices to test RTU and device operations including but not limited to: definition of status, control, and measurement points, polling rate, unsolicited event classification
Individual will install and test design settings for implementation in the field
Individual will support lab testing to verify proper design operation prior to field implementation
Individual will support troubleshooting events related to Substation Automation equipment where field device communication is identified to have mis-operated or Substation Automation related alarms are generated
Individual will understand and comply with requirements and standards set forth by industry organizations and protocols such as IEEE, DNP, modbus etc
Individual will serve on-call and during emergency restoration efforts as required

Required

Understanding of the design, specification, and installation of Substation Automation devices such as RTUs, various relays, reclosers, switches, padmount switchgear, etc
Understanding of SCADA engineering concepts, in particular DNP 3.0 protocol
Communications and presentation skills
Ability to organize and work within a team to design, install, and commission a project
Associates' Degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering or Electrical or Electronic technology, telecommunications engineering, or related discipline
Zero to three years of experience in engineering, programming, or testing of complex electronic systems
A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required
Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required
Must be available to travel between CT/MA as necessary
Must be available for On-Call Support
Applicants must successfully pass the TECH test

Preferred

Experience in Energy Delivery or T&D maintenance is preferred
Understanding of electric distribution systems is strongly preferred
