This role involves performing engineering assignments in support of testing, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Substation Automation equipment, while also serving as a subject matter expert for related technologies.

Responsibilities

Individual will perform engineering assignments (engineering and design) in support of the installation and commissioning of automated electric transmission and distribution substation devices for Eversource

Individual will prescribe the appropriate communication settings, i.e DNP, Modbus, etc, for substation devices including but not limited to: definition of status, control, and measurement points, polling rate, unsolicited event classification

Individual will work with outside departments to develop design settings for implementation in the field

Individual will support lab testing with to ensure design is working properly prior to field implementation

Individual will support troubleshooting events related to Substation Automation equipment where field device communication is identified to have mis-operated or Substation Automation related alarms are generated

Individual will Understanding of and compliance with requirements and standards set forth by industry organizations and protocols such as IEEE, DNP, modbus etc

Required

Bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related discipline

0- 3 years of experience in the design, implementation, and commissioning of automated field devices on an electric distribution system

Understanding of the design, specification, and installation of electronic devices such as Substation RTUs, reclosers, switches, padmount switchgear, RTUs, etc…

Understanding of SCADA engineering concepts, in particular DNP 3.0 and modbus protocol

Possess communications and presentation skills

Ability to organize and coordinate a team to design and build out a project

Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required

Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary

On-Call responsibilities are required
