Responsibilities

Design and develop high-performance connectivity solutions, including topology modeling, capacity planning, and protocol configurations (e.g., BGP, OSPF) for government networks to support high-bandwidth, low-latency requirements
Plan network expansions and upgrades, conducting site surveys, traffic analysis, and feasibility studies to integrate on-premises, cloud, and SD-WAN technologies seamlessly
Collaborate with stakeholders, security teams, and operations groups to validate designs through simulations, proof-of-concepts, and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to SLAs and federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF, STIGs)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
6+ years of experience in network planning and design, with hands-on expertise in high-performance connectivity solutions for government or large enterprise networks
Proven ability to develop scalable plans for hybrid environments, including routing/switching and security integrations
Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
Strong knowledge of federal network standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, DISA guidelines) and ITIL practices for service design and transition
Proficiency in network planning tools (e.g., Cisco Modeling Labs, NetSim) and performance modeling
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for technical collaboration in regulated settings
Applies extensive expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines, with the ability to exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment

Preferred

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification
Experience supporting DoD or large federal networks, including WAN planning and edge device integrations in distributed environments
ITIL 4 Foundation or higher certification, with emphasis on infrastructure management
Background in cloud networking (e.g., AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute) and automation scripting (e.g., Python)
Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CISSP)
