Teaching Technician

The University of Bristol's School of Anatomy is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Technician to support the veterinary and human dissection suites. The role involves setting up practical classes, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and managing resources in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

Provide practical support to the veterinary and human dissection suites and the Vesalius Clinical Training Centre
Ensure the smooth running of the dissection suites, teaching/study spaces, and anatomical museums
Prepare, setup, and clear down the teaching spaces
Manage resource demands while working to tight schedules
Perform daily housekeeping duties in the dissection suites
Maintain teaching provisions, specialist equipment, and storage facilities

Required

Experience of working within a similar environment or equivalent practical skills learnt in a different environment
Enthusiasm for science and a desire to provide high quality technical support for teaching
Ability to prioritise own workload within clearly defined limits, completing tasks in a timely manner
Full UK driving licence
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize a range of ongoing tasks
Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of contacts, including students, academic staff, and external suppliers
Experience of working well within a team but must be able to work with limited supervision towards pre-defined goals
Ability to complete tasks to a high level of accuracy, with attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
