National Legal Aid & Defender Association is seeking a Domestic Violence Law Staff Attorney for its Boise Office. This attorney will provide civil legal representation for survivors of domestic violence, focusing on family law matters and other civil legal areas.

Responsibilities

Providing legal services, including but not limited to: managing cases and casework; calling and meeting with clients; interviewing witnesses; trial preparation; researching and writing briefs and memorandums; drafting complaints and other pleadings; and litigating
Expected to practice some other civil legal areas that may assist survivors including, but not limited to, housing, consumer, and/or elder law
Draft written legal education materials and conduct outreach and education to individuals and organizations that serve our client community, including LGBTQIA, unhoused, refugee, immigrant, American Indian, and Latinx groups

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active membership in the Idaho State Bar or eligibility for admission
Experience in family law and civil legal representation
Strong legal research and writing skills
Ability to manage a caseload effectively
Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA, unhoused, refugee, immigrant, American Indian, and Latinx groups
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to serving survivors of domestic violence and related issues

Preferred

Experience in housing, consumer, and/or elder law
Bilingual or multilingual abilities
