Responsibilities

Advise on labor and employment matters, including workplace policies, compliance, employee relations, and labor disputes
Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documents, such as offer letters, employment agreements, separation agreements, and internal policies
Provide counsel on employment aspects of business initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and organizational changes
Partner with management and HR teams on workforce planning, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour, anti-discrimination, and harassment standards
Assist in resolving labor disputes, grievances, and workplace investigations, offering strategic guidance to mitigate legal and operational risk
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including HR, finance, operations, and leadership—to maintain consistent application of policies and regulatory compliance
Deliver practical, business-focused legal solutions that support organizational objectives
Stay informed of evolving employment laws and regulations, particularly in regulated industries, and advise the company accordingly
Support ad-hoc labor and employment projects, including training, policy updates, and other special initiatives

Required

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the United States
Minimum 8+ years of experience in labor and employment law, handling complex matters such as wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, workplace issues, and labor disputes
Proven ability to provide independent legal guidance on both transactional and advisory employment matters
Skilled in drafting, reviewing, and advising on employment policies and related documents, including offer letters, employment agreements, and separation agreements
Experience advising on labor and employment issues in the context of business initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and organizational changes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal guidance clearly to stakeholders
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple ad-hoc assignments and meet deadlines
Demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to provide practical, strategic legal advice
Commitment to delivering high-quality, timely legal support in a flexible, project-based environment
Professional, reliable, and proactive in providing exceptional legal guidance to internal stakeholders
