Community Development Project Inspector I
Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is dedicated to implementing creative regional solutions for community improvement. They are seeking a Community Development Project Inspector I to assist in administering government compliance and assistance programs related to housing and community development, while learning essential skills in building construction and energy efficiency trades.

Responsibilities
Conduct inspections throughout the Community Development programs (section 8, Weatherization, Essential Single-Family Rehab and CDBG block grants) as standards specify
Learn code compliance, conduct energy audits, and construction inspections
Generate work orders, bid specifications, and assess quality of completed work for the Regional Council's Community Development programs
Qualification
Required
High school graduation or equivalent supplemented by trade school course work in building construction trades
Three years of experience in the construction trades and bid specification preparation work
Some knowledge of construction standards
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors and the public
Basic math skills
Computer skills including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
Ability to record field activities and inspection details into a tablet device
Ability to read and write legibly
Ability to communicate effectively with people from various socio-economic backgrounds
Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts
Ability to build and maintain good working relationships
Knowledge of problems and needs of people with limited incomes
Valid North Carolina Driver's License
Passing the pre-employment drug screen and background screening process
Travel throughout 12-county region is required
Completion of probationary employment period by obtaining the last of the following requirements as a CD Project Inspector I – HQS, Awareness, Building Science Principles, Building Science Professionals, Lead RRP, Lead & Asbestos Awareness and six months of performance as an independent operator
