Sappi is seeking a strategic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for large-scale capital projects and mill maintenance activities. This role involves overseeing a team of engineers and ensuring projects meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of 9 direct reports, including project engineers and technical specialists
Oversee planning, budgeting, and execution of large capital projects from concept through commissioning
Provide strategic direction and technical oversight to ensure projects meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and corporate teams to align engineering initiatives with business goals
Support mill maintenance activities by providing engineering expertise and resources as needed
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development within the engineering team
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing capital projects
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving record
