Director of Clinical Operations
Pacific Cancer Care (PCC) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Clinical Operations to oversee medical oncology clinical operations, including infusion services and nursing. This leadership role involves supervising clinical staff, optimizing workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
Lead onboarding, training, and competency evaluations
Mentor nurses and clinical staff to foster growth and accountability
Provide staff education and in-services; schedule outside speakers
Support professional development and coaching
Represent and assist nurses as needed; demonstrate decisive leadership and conflict resolution
Supervise RNs and Charge Nurses to ensure chemotherapy administration adheres to PCC policy and NCCN guidelines
Maintain adherence to state, federal, and accrediting standards
Triage patient calls by acuity; provide timely nursing advice and escalate urgent findings to physicians within 30 minutes
Recognize and manage oncologic emergencies calmly and effectively
Demonstrate understanding of chemo/biotherapy agents and side effects; educate patients and families
Ensure prescriptions for supportive medications are provided with clear written instructions
Review lab values and pertinent tests; verify order accuracy before pharmacy submission
Oversee regimen updates in collaboration with OneOncology Pharmacy Services
Ensure efficient workflows across clinical areas, including staffing, scheduling, supplies, and training
Drive projects to improve safety, patient satisfaction, and operational performance
Maintain and update policies/procedures annually to reflect current oncology practice
Build comprehensive manuals for Treatment Center, Lab, and Pharmacy
Demonstrate proficiency in OncoEMR for regimen review, order accuracy, and workflow optimization
Lead quality control measures and MIPS initiatives to maximize performance
Support cross-coverage and training for chemo scheduling, MA, and Lab
Work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to align services with organizational priorities
Facilitate coordination between clinical services, medical oncology, radiation oncology, administration, and external partners
Contribute to PCC’s mission through leadership and special projects
Qualification
Required
Graduation from accredited nursing program required
Current California RN or APP license required
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Minimum 2 years oncology nursing experience, preferably in infusion or outpatient oncology
BLS certification required
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting
Knowledge of chemotherapy/immunotherapy workflows, patient safety protocols, and outpatient oncology best practices
Preferred
Previous experience managing or supervising multiple oncology clinical service lines
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across all departments and disciplines
Experience supporting accreditation, compliance, or quality improvement programs
Strong leadership skills with demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring clinical teams
Proven commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and professional integrity
