Bryan Health is seeking a GIRMC Cath Lab/IR Tech to perform interventional radiology and invasive cardiology procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Responsibilities

Assists Interventional Radiologist or Cardiologist in all types of procedures performed with angiography, fluoroscopy and ultrasound
Practices radiation and laser safety for patients, staff and self
Uses sterile technique as required
Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors. Records, analyzes and documents clinical patient information; recognizes and communicates arrhythmias; monitors arterial and/or venous pressure lines
Functions in the first scrub role by preparing, organizing and anticipating needed instruments, supplies and equipment for safe patient care for interventional radiology and invasive cardiology procedures
Competently operates all radiology equipment and support systems to include EMR, Scheduling System and PACS
Utilizes hospital and department computer systems, files and PACS to review patient history and to provide accurate documentation of studies to include patient clinical information
Properly cares for and images patients of all ages; maintains patient confidentiality
Coordinates exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care; communicates with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families and other hospital staff to ensure quality patient care; shares pertinent information regarding patient conditions with physicians, nurses and other professional staff as needed for patient care
Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination or questions with courtesy and accuracy
Provides information to patients and families to reduce anxiety and convey an attitude of acceptance, sensitivity and caring
Participates in the department's quality improvement plan as required. Initiates problem solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with peers
Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies supervisor of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as needed
Keeps work area properly supplied
Assists with departmental orientation and student clinical education as directed
Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise
Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned
Performs other related projects and duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduate from a school of radiologic technology with current certification or eligibility for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
Valid Nebraska state medical radiographer license required
Maintains clinical competency as required for the unit including but not limited to age-specific competencies relative to patient's growth and developmental needs, annual skill competency verification and mandatory education and competencies
Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions
Knowledge of radiologic positioning, use of technical factors, and radiation safety practices
Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to radiography
Knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology related to interventional radiology and invasive cardiology procedures
Knowledge of techniques and supplies required for interventional procedures
Skill in operating radiologic equipment, image capture devices, PACS, and other related systems
Ability to react appropriately and perform work effectively under stressful and emergent situations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment related to changing patient conditions
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff
Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information
Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision
Ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and patient safety
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
