Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
Own and manage the month-end close process, including review of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and cutoff procedures
Maintain integrity of the general ledger, including assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses, and inventory
Partner with operations to reconcile physical inventory, validate inventory adjustments, analyze material flows, and ensure accurate cost of goods sold
Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with auditors
Provide leadership, coaching, and development for accounting staff
Serve as a financial and accounting resource for operations and cross-functional teams
Review financial statements and underlying data for completeness, accuracy, and GAAP compliance
Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to company policies and compliance requirements
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
Assist the Senior Director of Accounting and VP of Finance with technical accounting matters, special projects, and research
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Experience with ERP/MRP systems required
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong MS Office skills
Deep knowledge of GAAP and month-end close best practices
Proven ability to evaluate, improve, and scale accounting processes
Strong attention to detail with the ability to clearly communicate accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in distribution, project-based, or retail environments

Preferred

JDE preferred
MBA preferred
Active CPA is highly preferred
