Responsibilities
Inspect, test, and diagnose servers
Replace parts as needed
Conduct and analyze server stress tests
Document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in shop floor tool
Collaborate with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, and inspections personnel
Provide back up for QC, inspection, and motherboard testing
Maintain parts consumption
Other duties as assigned by leadership
Maintain and nurture positive work environment
Work and collaborate with other teams such as warehouse, shipping, receiving, etc
Follow process for system and parts managements
Qualification
Required
Experience in programming languages like Linux
Some server or repair experience in general
Inspect, test, and diagnose servers
Replace parts as needed
Conduct and analyze server stress tests
Document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in shop floor tool
Collaborate with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, and inspections personnel
Provide back up for QC, inspection, and motherboard testing
Maintain parts consumption
Know the basics of server architecture
Know how to assemble components to make server functional
Run and understand testing diagnostics
Understand basic networking architecture
Understand basic error codes
Able to troubleshoot common server errors and issues
Motivated to solve problems
Interested in constantly learning about servers and networking
Education: high school diploma or equivalent technical experience
Experience: troubleshooting and diagnosing servers
Experience with computer tools such as email, spreadsheets, and call tracking or shop repair tools
Experience with replacing parts on servers
Experience with server configuration
Good written and verbal skills—needs to document errors and repairs
Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 30 pounds
Must be able to tolerate moderate to high noise level in a warehouse environment
Must be able to work in hot or cold weather conditions
Preferred
Certifications in Server support and architecture desired
Prefer to have worked in a PC or server type of environment
