Responsibilities

Payment Processing: Accurately post all electronic and paper payments, denials, and correspondence from patients and payers

Reconciliation & Refunds: Verify batch totals, reconcile deposits, and process patient refunds in line with policy

Variance Resolution: Identify and resolve underpayments, overpayments, and unapplied transactions

EOB & Documentation: Retrieve and record remittance advice and EOBs from payer portals for accurate reporting

Compliance & Collaboration: Ensure HIPAA compliance, maintain audit readiness, and communicate with internal teams and insurers to resolve discrepancies

Qualification

Required

3+ years in cash posting, medical billing, or insurance payments, with working knowledge of claims, reimbursement, and insurance verification

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows-based systems with strong data entry accuracy and EHR or billing software familiarity

Understanding of healthcare billing practices, payment reconciliation, insurance payer processes, and HIPAA compliance

Highly detail-oriented, organized, and analytical professional with strong problem-solving, communication, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
