4+ years expThompson Palm Springs is currently recruiting for an experienced Chief Engineer to join the hotel’s Engineering team. The Chief Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the physical infrastructure and systems, assisting the Director of Engineering in overseeing the engineering and maintenance department to ensure optimal conditions and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities
Assists in directing general construction and the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical and architectural systems throughout the facility to ensure operational efficiency and safety
Assigns, verifies and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system
Communicates with city/county/state officials to ensure the proper maintenance of permits and licenses, to coordinate required inspections and to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members
Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations
Assists in interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff
Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
Ensure maintenance of tools and equipment in safe working condition
Maintain records of types and frequency of maintenance
Make approved purchases of supplies, equipment and services
Maintain inventory
Conduct regular safety inspections of the property
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 4 years' building maintenance experience is required
Must have experience operating high pressure Steam Boilers, Chillers, HVAC systems
Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
hotel experience
Previous leadership experience in a similar role
Engineering/Facility Management degree
