Responsibilities
Welding competency in all positions
Able to set weld machines to optimum parameters for work in accordance with WPS
Understands weld symbols and prepares joints in accordance with code
Utilizes jigs and fixtures where appropriate
Performs basic fitting work as instructed
Places welds of proper size, spacing and sequence per work instruction
Ability to read and understand shop plans, blueprints and work orders
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree
3+ years of experience welding or trade school education
Certified welder holding current WABO or AWS certification (FCAW)
Skillful operation of most non-specialized metal working equipment
Understands and applies visual inspection criteria in pre-QC work checks
